The expression "Industry 4.0" " indicates a process generated by technological transformations in the design, production and distribution of manufacturing systems and products, aimed at automated and interconnected industrial production.
In particular, it identifies an organization based on the digitization of all stages of the production process. It is a model of the "smart factory" of the future, in which the use of digital technologies allows to monitor of physical processes and make decisions based on an efficient resource management, flexibility, productivity and competitiveness of the systems, generating virtuous synergies between production and services.
The digitalization of the industry 4.0 offers offers important potential benefits to companies: it enriches the industrial offer with new "intelligent" services, improves the technical and energetic efficiency of industrial processes and increases production flexibility.
4.0 technologies are used to make faster and more precise decisions, to allow new forms of human-machine interaction to interconnect the entire value chain within the company and, potentially, the entire supply chain.
The Budget Law 2020, which allows companies to extend the incentives to invest in innovation 4.0, modifies the tools that can be deployed according to the current legislation, introducing various changes to the original text of the bill approved by the Government.
The approach that stimulates ecological investments and innovation in SMEs and the tax credit for the purchase of machinery remains.
